frequently asked quesTIons

what is a case evaluation?

Your Case Evaluation is a one-hour meeting with an experienced, knowledgeable, trusted immigration attorney, not a paralegal or assistant.  During the Case Evaluation, Attorney Kalani will conduct a thorough review of your history and discuss your current and future immigration goals.  You will be able to ask questions or express any concerns you may have about your current status or your immigration journey.

what will i learn during my case evaluation?

After a thorough review, the attorney will explain the immigration options you qualify for and will provide you with the information you need to take the next step on your U.S. immigration journey. You will leave the Case Evaluation with a clear strategy for success on your immigration case, or an honest explanation of why you can’t move forward at this time.

where do we meet for the case evaluation?

We serve clients across the United States and the world. All initial Case Evaluations are scheduled via Zoom. If you hire the firm, all case meetings, document sharing, communication, and filing for your case can occur virtually, to ensure that our services are convenient for your life and effective for your case success.

how much is the case evaluation?

A Case Evaluation is a one-hour meeting with an experienced, knowledgeable, trusted immigration attorney, not a paralegal or assistant. You can review options, book your preferred meeting time, and pay for your consultation here. You may pay with any major credit or debit card or by bank draft.

how much will you charge to do my immigration case?

Each case is unique, which is why we provide a full one-hour comprehensive Case Evaluation with an experienced, knowledgeable, trusted immigration attorney, not a paralegal or assistant. Through this Case Evaluation process the attorney will identify the options for your immigration case and will explain the total cost associated with each option.  You will leave the Case Evaluation knowing the total cost for your case and how to make payment, if you choose to hire Hawks Villafranca Law.

what should i bring to my case evaluation?

Bring as much as you can!  The following documents are very helpful during the Case Evaluation and allow the attorney to give you the most accurate, personal case analysis possible:

  • U.S. immigration documents, including I-94 arrival/departure record, travel document, green card, visas, and work permits
  • All prior U.S. immigration applications
  • Any document you’ve ever received from immigration court or border patrol
  • All documents related to any past criminal charges or arrests, even if they have been expunged, sealed, or dismissed
  • Birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, and death certificates
  • U.S. or foreign Passport, driver’s license, matricula consular, or other ID documents
  • Any other document you think might be helpful to evaluate your case

I Already Completed My Application. Can You Review It?

No. Our insurance will not allow us to review any work you have done yourself. If you would like to do your case without the support and guidance of an immigration attorney, you are welcome to do so, but we can not provide feedback, guidance, support, or advice on how to handle your case on your own.

are you my attorney?

Not yet! The purpose of the Case Evaluation is to determine what immigration options are available to you and to give you the information you need to make the best decision for your future. If  you decide to hire us after completing a Case Evaluation, we’d be honored to handle your case. Until then, we are not your attorney and do not represent you in your immigration matter. The Case Evaluation does not create an attorney-client relationship or any obligation to provide services outside of the one-hour Case Evaluation meeting.

i just need to review my daca. Do I Need a Full Case Evaluation?

It is important for you to consider other options for your future and the future of your family here in the United States.

The case evaluation will provide a comprehensive analysis and clear direction on both your DACA renewal case and other immigration options that may be available to you.
